We are a coalition of community-based organizations who work together to educate and empower voters who have been historically disenfranchised in Virginia Beach. We seek to unify our collective voices into a stronger, more cohesive force that can successfully advocate for an agenda of shared values and issues.
Our diverse work includes power mapping, organizing, listening sessions, voter engagement, policy advocacy and leadership development. Our community centered approach will facilitate creative spaces where citizens come together to lift up issues that impact them while cohesively connecting those issues to resources that actively resolve the issues.

Campaign Legal Center Page on VAB lawsuit
The city of Virginia Beach has used an at-large voting system to elect members to the City Council since 1966. The lawsuit asks the court to change the City’s election system to district-based or ranked choice voting, which would allow minorities to elect their candidates of choice to the City Council.
